10 Must Have Quilting Tools - if you love to quilt or sew, then you will love these tools. You'll unearth cool quilting rulers, scissors, wonder clips, die cutting machines, the best thread and more!

Do you love to sew or quilt?  If so, oh my!!!!  You will want to save this blog and read it over and over.  I'm Andrea and have been quilting for over 30 years.  Over the years I've discovered some tools that I simply can't live without and it's time that I share them with you.  Full disclosure, Sew Happy Quilting is a participant in Amazon Services LLC Affiliate Program so some of the below links could earn me a small commission. With that being said, I physically own and use each and every one of these products all the time and would never recommend anything I hate so trust me, you'll love these too.  Here we go. . .

Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star - by Deb Tucker

Ok this tool is absolutely amazing.  Below is one of my quilts I made using this rapid fire lemoyne star tool along with the actual tool.  Deb Tucker creates many tools for quilters that save a ton of time, are accurate, have YouTube videos available to help teach you the steps.  Different size stars can be made and this tool can be easily adapted for left handed or right handed people.  You'll love the gorgeous stars you can make with this tool.  Click here or on the photo to be brought to the actual tool that's for sale.

InvisiGrip - by Omnigrid

If you have quilting rulers that are slippery and lack that nice grip on the back of the ruler, get yourself some of this InvisiGrip.  It prevents rulers from slipping when cutting.  You will save yourself a lot of money by purchasing some of this magical stuff instead of feeling like you need to go buy a brand new ruler with grip.  Best part is you get a yard of it so you can back quite a few rulers just by purchasing one roll.  Click here or the photo below to order your roll.

2 1/2 x 18 Inch Ruler - by Omnigrip

This ruler size is a must have ruler for the quilter and crafter out there.  It's so versitile and I'm always reaching for this size ruler.  It's a staple found in most quilter's ruler collection.  The 18" length is big enough for most projects, yet not as bulky as the 24".  You'll appreciate having this ruler in your collection.  Click here or on the image below to purchase.

Thread Snip Scissors - by Fiskars

If you trim a lot of thread, you need to add these value priced scissors to your list of must haves.  Using big bulky scissors for thread trimming is very time consuming not to mention you can more easily slip up and accidently cut your fabric with the bulky scissors.  You will love the time you save with these small handheld scissors.  Click here or on the photo below to get yours today.  You'll thank me later.

Add-A-Quarter Ruler - by CM Designs, Inc.

Do you love paper piecing?  If so, you need to get yourself one of these handy tools today.  It makes trimming a cinch and it helps prevent template shaving.  You'll love this straight edge Add-A-Quarter for your next paper piecing project.  I've taken a few paper piecing classes and every single one insists you have this handy tool.  Click here or on the photo below to get your Add-A-Quarter ruler today.

QCR Mini Ruler - by Sew Kind of Wonderful

Oh the gorgeous circle quilts that you can make with this ruler!  It seems next to impossible to make circle quilts right?  Well not anymore!  In the picture below is one of my batik circle table runners I made.  It was so fun - you will love this tool.  Click here or the photo below and it will bring you to a page where you can purchase as well as read all the amazing reviews on this product.

26 Spool Thread Collection - by Gutermann

Gutermann thread is a favorite of mine.  I've tried a lot of thread over the past 30 years and this, hands down, is the best thread I have found.  There is nothing worse than using cheap thread for a quilting project and having the thread break a million times while you sew.  Do yourself a favor and save yourself a lot of frustration and just go buy some Gutermann thread.  This 26 pack gives you a nice variety of colors and is a collection I like to purchase at least once a year.  Click here or on the photo below to be brought to a page where you can purchase.

The Ultimate Stiletto - by Fons & Porter

This stiletto is a machine quilting tool that helps you grab and adjust fabric as you stitch.  We know there are times we want to get our fingers right in there but we all know something bad could happen - get yourself a stiletto and push that fabric right in there to the needle while being safe.  The ergonomic handle is so comfortable to hold too.  Click here or on the photo below to get your stiletto today.

Mini Wonder Clips - by Swity Home

These multi purpose clips are used for a variety of things but one of the most popular ways to use them is for binding quilts.  These clips clip snugly around your fabric, holding the fabric in place while you bind your beautiful quilt.  The red ones are my favorite - bright and easy to find.  Get your mini wonder clips today by clicking here or on the photo below.

2 1/2 Inch Strip Cutting Die & Go! Die Cutting Machine - by AccuQuilt

If you happen to have an AccuQuilt Go! cutting machine already, then this cutting die is a must have!  If you don't have a Go! cutting machine, then I will link to that machine in the last sentence below.  For those of you who love making quilt patterns such as log cabin quilts or bargello quilts, then these 2 1/2 inch strips are a necessity.  This machine and die will cut multiple strips quickly.  You will save a lot of time.  Click here for the 2 1/2 inch strip die link to purchase.  The AccuQuilt Go! cutting system can be found by clicking here.

There you have it!  A few of my favorite things.  Quilters rave about these items all the time and I know that once you get your hands on them, you will too.  Enjoy and happy shopping and quilting!
